Flushing IV Line

This document is in response to your request for information regarding flushing the IV line after Veklury® (remdesivir [RDV]) infusion is complete.

Available Data on Flushing IV Line After RDV Infusion

After infusion of RDV is complete, it is best practice to flush the IV line with sufficient volume of 0.9% sodium chloride at the same infusion rate to ensure that all the RDV solution has been administered. The flush volume should be greater than the priming volume of the infusion tubing to ensure that all the RDV solution has been administered.1

Please refer to the local label for additional instructions for the preparation and administration of RDV, if applicable.
